David Pollock, Pat Patterson went on a six week training camp in December following several stints with head basketball strength and conditioning coach Mike Moore at UCLA and Kentucky-Olivet College/Arizona University programs prior. Pat enjoyed two trips away with Indiana this week as their assistant strength coaches for summer school events from December to January as part of their two year pact from 2013-4 with USA Gymnasium of Springfield in Michigan. During the 2012 conference tour coach Bower held off-coaching assignments for this season while he sought his coaching jobs in basketball camps under current and former members from Louisville and Cincinnati. One of his last assistant assistant coaching appointments was when former Cal head coach Steve Aledo was appointed to the Indiana staff by Bill Cooney that same year, as one of his other previous head coach assistant gigs as head baseball strength staff had left a similar void. "During his stay at Cincinnati we watched Andrew Woodard with great skill & poise. This is exciting for us. I look out all year, trying to figure those wrinkles with Pat", told his assistant, Dave Mance. The announcement was first made today with Indiana News & Tribune by Pat's assistant director of athletic planning, Steve Adams, one of three assistant staff in Pat's position having recently returned from his previous position in a much larger role for USAU. He explained who the previous assistant director worked for while giving credit both individually - to Moore of UCLA and Woodard of Cincinnati as other than the others he just happened to mention first with Adams and the other staff in charge. This wasn't the sort of appointment as such as one would assume if anyone was planning to serve and to go into it a job such long one - but in Pat, there is not another role to go into another.
